During the month of May Flaming Acres had over a thousand elementary school students out to the farm. Students from local public & homeschool groups came from all over the Treasure Valley. We provided agricultural education combined with fun as students and their teachers/chaperones explored the farm. Activities included a cow train or hayride, zip line swings, pedal carts, a petting zoo, a tractor tire playground and farm games. The students made butter and learned dairy facts, planted seeds & mixed soil types, learned to set a siphon tube and spun sheep wool. We had so much fun that we have plans to invite schools back to the farm in October for the fall harvest season!
