Things are heating up at Flaming Acres Farm! In the field, the corn, sunflowers and pumpkins are up and growing. The park areas are greening up and the trees are stretching to the sky. I spent the last few weeks painting the chicken coop, and barns which was a LOT of work :) Keeping everything watered and weeded has been a daily chore for me as well. The garden is producing yummy cucumbers, zucchini, radishes, spinach, lettuce and tomatoes. The blackberries FINALLY started producing. We are getting ready to cut the corn maze this next week. You can see a sketch of the design we have in mind for the mini & large corn maze which will provide 13 acres of walking trails to get lost in. We ordered the straw bales and they should be delivered in a week or two, both the ton & small bales. I will be working on the cow train painting project next week and have a lot of information to get posted and ready for the website. We are very excited about having folks come to the Sunflower Festival September 2nd & 3rd, 9th & 10th to visit for free. We will be serving food and invite you to get a sneak preview of what will be happening for the Fall Festival which opens September 16th and of course you must see the huge variety of sunflowers which will be in bloom. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer as much as we are at Flaming Acres Farm!
